Mumbai Police received a threatening phone call warning of a terrorist attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft ahead of his US visit. Authorities immediately launched an investigation leading to the arrest of a suspect. The individual is reportedly mentally unstable.

A security alert was triggered after Mumbai Police’s control room received a phone call on “February 11th claiming that terrorists were planning to attack ‘PM Modi’s aircraft’. Given that Modi is currently on a ‘four-day visit to France and the US’, officials took the threat seriously and initiated a high-level investigation.

According to reports after receiving the call Mumbai Police promptly informed senior officials and security agencies. A suspect was soon identified and taken into custody. Preliminary findings suggest that the person is mentally unstable but further investigation is underway.

This is not the first time such a threat has been made. “In December last year, Mumbai Police received a WhatsApp message warning that ISI agents were planning a bomb attack on Modi.” Similar threats have also been directed at Bollywood stars like “Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan” in recent times.

Meanwhile, Modi's “International visit includes meetings with US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron.” He also attended the ‘Global AI Summit in France’ and held discussions with Google CEO Sundar Pichai regarding India's AI and digital transformation strategies.

Despite heightened security concerns, Modi's tour continues as scheduled, with authorities remaining vigilant.
