A man deeply in love with a popular actress built a lavish Rs 3 crore house for her in Kolkata using stolen money. The 37 year old identified as Panchakshari Swami was finally arrested in Bengaluru for multiple thefts. Despite being a karate black belt he made a career out of crime and amassed a fortune through burglary.

Context

Panchakshari Swami a resident of Solapur Maharashtra had been involved in crimes for decades. Though married and a father, he was notorious for his lavish lifestyle and multiple relationships. Reports suggest he started stealing as a teenager in 2003 and became a professional thief by 2009. Over the years, he built massive wealth through his criminal activities.

In 2014-15 he met a famous actress, and their love story began. Blinded by love he spent crores on her, even gifting her a Rs 22 lakh luxury aquarium. But his secrets unravelled when the police arrested him in Bengaluru after a recent burglary on January 9th.

Police found shocking details about his methods. He used a partner to execute high-profile robberies, melted stolen gold into biscuits and frequently changed clothes after crimes to avoid suspicion. Authorities recovered 181 grams of gold biscuits, 333 grams of silver and tools used to melt stolen jewellery.
