Shocking Murder in Madhyamgram...! Woman's Body Found Crumpled in a Trolley Bag.

top-news

A horrific incident has shaken Madhyamgram as a woman’s body was discovered early in the morning inside a crumpled trolley bag at Ahiritola Ghat. Initial investigations suggest she was killed using a heavy blunt weapon, followed by a failed attempt to dispose of her body. The police are digging deeper into the case to uncover the full story.

Details & Context

The chilling discovery of a woman's lifeless body in a trolley bag at Ahiritola Ghat has sent shockwaves through Madhyamgram. According to police sources, the victim was killed by a blow to the head with a heavy blunt object. Contrary to earlier reports claiming her body was cut into three pieces, the police have clarified that the body was not dismembered but forcibly stuffed into the bag, causing it to crumple.

The murder is believed to have occurred the previous night, after which the perpetrators transported the body from Madhyamgram to the city using a taxi. Preliminary investigations suggest a family dispute may have led to the killing.

Two women identified as Falguni Ghosh and her mother Arati Ghosh have been taken into custody. It is suspected that they are residents of Barasat. Police are interrogating the duo to ascertain whether others were involved in the crime. Kolkata Police are also coordinating with Madhyamgram Police to gather more information.

The victim Sumita Ghosh lived in a rented house in Madhyamgram and was allegedly murdered there. The body was then transported by taxi with the mother-daughter duo roaming around the city for hours visiting several ghats before selecting Ahiritola Ghat to dump the body. When confronted by authorities the suspects initially claimed the bag contained a dog's carcass.

Despite initial rumours a post-mortem examination confirmed the body had not been cut into pieces but certain body parts appeared crumpled due to being forced into the trolley bag. The North Port police station is leading the investigation.
