Tragic Incident at MAKAUT...! Student Allegedly Jumps from Campus Building.

top-news

A shocking incident occurred at the Haringhata campus of MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology) as an M.Tech student allegedly took her own life by jumping from a campus building. The incident led to widespread student protests with exams being cancelled for the day.

Campus in Shock Over Student's Death

A wave of unrest swept through the Haringhata campus of MAKAUT following the tragic death of an M.Tech first-year student. According to university authorities the student allegedly jumped from the rooftop leading to immediate chaos on campus. Enraged by the incident, students blocked faculty members from entering the university demanding accountability and answers.

Allegations of Exam Stress Behind the Tragedy

Some students claim that the deceased was caught using unfair means during an exam. The invigilator reportedly confiscated her answer sheet and stapled it with other documents possibly adding remarks about the incident. Fearing humiliation and potential consequences the student allegedly took the drastic step.

Following the incident students staged a protest blocking National Highway 12 citing the absence of an ambulance on campus as a critical issue.

University Administration Responds

Vice-Chancellor Tapas Chakraborty addressed the media, stating,

“The exam had been ongoing since the 5th of this month. The student was caught cheating and the invigilator documented it. This might have led to anxiety and fear of academic consequences. We deeply regret this unfortunate loss.”

Authorities have announced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for today.

Past Controversy at MAKAUT

This is not the first time MAKAUT’s Haringhata campus has been in the headlines. Recently a classroom wedding incident sparked outrage on social media. A faculty member was accused of organising a fake wedding as part of an “acting script” which later turned out to be a controversial prank. Following an internal investigation the university declared that the incident was inappropriate and not part of any academic curriculum. The responsible professor resigned amid the controversy.

Impact and Student Concerns

This tragic event has raised questions about mental health support, stress management and administrative responsibility in universities. Students are demanding better counselling facilities and emergency medical services on campus to prevent such incidents in the future.

The university community mourns the loss of a young student while demanding immediate reforms. The administration is under pressure to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
