No Teachers, Only Uncertainty, Will This Be the Last Year.?

A school stands with blackboards and students but no teacher. With the only teacher retiring recently the future of the students is uncertain. Parents are worried - will this be the last year.? Despite the uncertainty students celebrated Saraswati Puja with the villagers offering their support.

A Community’s Plea, Save Our School.!

Parents and villagers are demanding the urgent appointment of a teacher. Education must continue but the fear remains 'once the festival is over the school may shut down.'

Located in Nischintapur, Chandrakona-1 Block, West Medinipur this school currently has 25 students. It was established in 2000 with one teacher and a helper. Over time, the helper retired, and recently the only remaining teacher, Tarun Pal, also retired. With no replacement, classes have stopped and even the mid-day meal program has been discontinued. Cooks no longer come to the school uncertain about their own future.

Villagers Step In, But How Long Can They Help.?

Despite everything, villagers ensured that the Saraswati Puja tradition continued. However, an air of sadness loomed—what happens next.? Even retired teacher “Tarun Pal” attended but with no teachers left, “the school faces inevitable closure”.

With the nearest school several kilometers away, parents worry about their children's future. They urge authorities to appoint a new teacher immediately. If the school closes, it will be a major setback for the children of this rural community.

Official Response..! No Teachers, Students May Be Relocated

When asked about the situation, Chandrakona-1 Block BDO, Krishnendu Biswas stated that appointing a teacher may not be possible. Instead students might have to be transferred to another school. The community now waits to see what will ultimately happen to their beloved school.
