Announced on May 2nd, 2025 by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) the results spotlight exceptional performances with East Medinipur leading at a 96.46% pass rate. The WBBSE unveiled the Madhyamik Result 2025 at 9 AM on May 2nd, 2025 during a press conference just 70 days after the exams wrapped up on February 22nd. This year, 9,69,425 students appeared for the exams, up by 56,827 from last year. Notably, girls outshone boys, with 5,43,544 female candidates compared to 4,25,881 males—a 27.26% gap. The state’s overall pass percentage climbed to 86.56%, a slight improvement from 86.31% in 2024.

Adrit Sarkar from North Dinajpur’s Raiganj Coronation High School stole the show with 696 marks just 4 shy of a perfect score. He earned AA grades across all subjects, securing full marks in Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physical Science and History and losing only 2 marks each in Life Science and Geography. The merit list was highly competitive with 66 students securing spots in the top 10 ranks.

District-wise East Medinipur topped with a 96.46% pass rate followed closely by Kalimpong (96.09%), Kolkata (92.30%) and West Medinipur (90.52%). The results reflect a surge in participation, with 9,84,979 students registering this year.
