WhatsApp one of the most widely used messaging apps globally, is launching a major privacy update that will allow users to hide their phone numbers while chatting. This new feature is designed to enhance user privacy and prevent unwanted access to personal details, making conversations more secure than ever.

What’s Changing.?

Until now, WhatsApp users could see each other’s phone numbers while chatting, especially in groups. But with this new update users on Android and iOS beta versions will no longer be able to view phone numbers. Instead they can search for and connect with others using usernames, similar to Telegram.

Why This Feature.?

This update aims to reduce online fraud and scams by limiting phone number visibility. Previously in WhatsApp groups members could easily see each other’s contact details. With the new privacy mode, numbers will remain hidden unless the user chooses to share them.
