Shocking School Incident....! Dalit Girl Forced to Take Exams Outside Classroom During Periods, Shame....!

top-news

A private school in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore district has sparked outrage.! A 13 year old Dalit girl was forced to sit outside her classroom and write exams just because she was on her period. This shameful act has left everyone—from parents to activists—fuming and demanding action.

Details & Context

The incident happened at Swami Chidbhavananda Matric Higher Secondary School in Senguttaipalayam village. On April 7th and 9th 2025, this 8th grade student had to take her Science and Social Science exams outside the classroom. Why.? She had started her periods on April 5th and the school decided this made her “unfit” to sit with others.

The news broke when the girl’s mother confronted the school authorities. A heated argument was caught on video which went viral on social media. In the emotional footage, the mother demands answers—why was her daughter treated so unfairly.? The school’s excuse.? It’s their “rule” during menstruation.

Quotes

The girl’s mother said, “My daughter was humiliated for something natural. How can a school do this in 2025.?”

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar stated, “We’ve ordered a police investigation. If the school is guilty, strict action will follow.”

A Dalit activist added, “This is discrimination at its worst. Schools should teach equality not shame.”

Additional Information

The viral video has triggered massive backlash. Locals are planning to file a complaint with the Sub-Collector, while rural police have already started probing the case. The Tamil Nadu Education Department has asked school inspectors for a detailed report. The school hasn’t officially responded yet, but parents and residents are pressing for clarity. Discussions about caste bias and menstrual stigma are now heating up across the state’s schools.

Impact Analysis

This incident could scar the young girl emotionally and affect her trust in education. It’s also a blow to parents who expect schools to be safe spaces. On a larger scale, it exposes deep-rooted issues like caste discrimination and period shaming in India. If action isn’t taken, trust in private schools might drop, but it could also push for stricter anti-discrimination laws—a silver lining in this dark story.

What should’ve been a normal exam day turned into a nightmare for this Dalit student. The school’s cruel decision has ignited a firestorm of criticism, and rightly so. It’s a wake-up call—education must uplift not degrade. Let’s hope justice prevails.!
