Saudi Arabia Arrests Over 23,800 Illegal Residents in One Week

Saudi authorities have arrested 23,865 individuals in a nationwide crackdown on illegal residency, border crossing and labour violations. The arrests were made between March 5th and March 11th highlighting the Kingdom’s strict enforcement of immigration laws.

- According To The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that

  - 16,644 people were arrested for violating residency rules.

  - 3,896 individuals were caught attempting illegal border crossings.

  - 3,325 were detained for labour-related offences.

- Among the 1,432 caught trying to enter the country illegally

  - 67% were Ethiopian nationals.

  - 29% were Yemeni nationals.

  - 4% belonged to other nationalities.

- Authorities also detained 97 individuals attempting to leave Saudi Arabia illegally.
