Storm Brewing in the Coral Sea
For the past few days, meteorologists have been closely monitoring a storm system forming near the north-eastern coast of Queensland. The Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed that the system is steadily growing and is likely to turn into a full-fledged tropical cyclone soon.
Expected Path of the Storm
Senior Meteorologist Jonathan Howe stated that the storm is currently moving away from the coast towards the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. However, a shift in its path is expected with the storm potentially reversing direction and heading back towards Queensland.
Impact on Queensland
Just weeks after devastating floods Queensland residents are now bracing for more extreme weather. While Jonathan Howe assured that the cyclone may not cause significant damage initially the possibility of heavy rains and strong winds cannot be ruled out.
