Saudi Arabia is getting ready to celebrate its Fourth Founding Day on February 22nd and Riyadh is turning into a sea of green. The Riyadh Municipality has decorated the city with more than 8,000 national flags symbolising the rich history and unity of the Kingdom.

Citywide Decorations for Founding Day

The Riyadh Municipality has placed Saudi flags across key areas including main roads, bridges, squares and lampposts. These flags represent both the First Saudi State (1727) and the modern Kingdom. The installation was carefully planned to ensure the best visual appeal making Riyadh look even more spectacular.

To ensure everything runs smoothly specialised field teams have been deployed. Their job is to monitor, maintain and manage the decorations, ensuring they remain in perfect condition throughout the celebrations.

Exciting Events & Celebrations

Saudi citizens and residents will take to the streets in thousands to celebrate this national occasion. Multiple events will be held across the country, including,

✅ Firework displays lighting up the night sky.

✅ Traditional folk performances showcasing Saudi heritage.

✅ Light decorations on government buildings.

✅ Special community activities for families and children.

The Riyadh Municipality has planned over 47 events across 47 locations, bringing entertainment, cultural programs and interactive experiences for everyone.

Residents are excited about Founding Day and grateful for the country’s progress and leadership. Abdullah Ahmed a Riyadh resident expressed his gratitude,

- “I thank Allah for the peace and security in our country. We are blessed with wise leadership under King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This day reminds us of our great history starting from Imam Mohammed bin Saud’s leadership in 1727.”

The First Saudi State founded in 1727 marked the beginning of the nation’s journey towards unity and strength. Today Founding Day is a tribute to Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted history and promising future.
