Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have extended their heartfelt condolences to the US President Joe Biden following the tragic New Orleans attack on January 1st, where a pickup truck rampage claimed 14 people’s lives and injured dozens.

Condolences from Saudi Arabia

In an official message King Salman condemned the violent act and expressed deep sympathy to the victims and their families. The king wished for the speedy recovery of those who are injured. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman echoed these sentiments in a separate message and showing solidarity with the United States during this difficult time.

The New Orleans Attack

On the New Year’s Day a man whose name was Shamsud Din Jabbar a 42 year old US Army veteran drove a pickup truck through a crowded area in New Orleans killing 14 people and injuring many more. According to the FBI report, the attack was inspired by the extremist group Daesh (ISIS). Jabbar was killed by the US Police during a confrontation.

FBI Findings

Investigators revealed that Jabbar had recorded a videos before the attack, he was expressing allegiance to Daesh and referring to a “that war between believers and nonbelievers.” However, the FBI confirmed that he acted alone and was not part of any larger network.

A Second Incident in Las Vegas

On the same day, another shocking incident was happened in Las Vegas. Matthew Livelsberger who is an active duty US Army member  drove a Tesla Cybertruck loaded with fireworks and fuel canisters into the entrance of the Trump International Hotel and suddenly it was blast. The explosion injured seven people. Investigators described it was as a deliberate act meant to "wake up" to the nation.

This twin incidents have sparked to the international condemnation and highlighting the need for collective efforts to prevent acts of violence and terrorism. Messages of support and condolence continue come to from across the world.
